AJ grew up in Edwardsville and graduated from Edwardsville High School in 2006.  He was a 3 time state qualifier in high school. He attended Eastern Illinois 2006-2007 and was a starter on their wrestling team. Eastern dropped their wrestling program so he transferred to McKendree University where he graduated in 2010. AJ was a starter all three years and was a 2 time national qualifier.  While wrestling at McKendree his team place 2nd, 3rd, and 5th in the NAIA National Tournament.

 


SAM MEAD

Sam grew up in Hazelwood and attended Hazelwood Central High school. Sam began wrestling in middle school. This is Sam’s second year teaching and coaching wrestling at Lincoln Middle School. Sam is very grateful to be a part of the Edwardsville wrestling community.

JEREMY DEMPSEY

I was about 5 years old when I started wrestling for the Edwardsville Wrestling Club and I continued to compete until I graduated from Edwardsville High School in 2011.  After graduating high school I started my coaching career for a club in Bolivar, Missouri while I was pursuing my bachelors degree from Southwest Baptist University.  After about a year of coaching there myself along with my brother took over as head coaches until I graduated in 2015.  After graduating I moved back to Edwardsville and started coaching for the Edwardsville Wrestling Club and a year later I started coaching at Lincoln Middle School. 


SEAN MULLIGAN

Sean Mulligan began wrestling at Edwardsville Wrestling Club in 2002 when he was 7 years old. Growing up in Edwardsville, he wrestled for Liberty MS and Quest, as well as EWC. He then attended St. Louis University High School (SLUH) and graduated from SLUH in 2014. At St. Louis University High School, Sean was a two time state qualifier for Missouri. Sean also became (and still is) the winningest wrestler in SLUH wrestling history. While attending Creighton University, he helped coach at Omaha Central High School. After returning to Edwardsville, Sean joined the EWC and Lincoln Middle School coaching staff in 2018. Sean is currently finishing up his bachelor’s in psychology and bachelor’s in secondary education at SIUE.
